Dr. Rex Malcom was born and raised in Georgia, not far from Atlanta. He began his professional career as a Pharmacist after graduating with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia. During pharmacy school, he completed an externship with the Indian Health Service in Sitka. His time there created a strong desire to return to Alaska. After marrying his wife Angela in 1999, and a few years practicing pharmacy in Georgia and South Carolina, his young family decided to make the move to Anchorage. His son was 10 months old at the time.
After 7 years living in Anchorage, and having a new daughter, Dr. Malcom made the decision to pursue a long time goal of returning to school to be a dentist. Along with his family, he moved to Kentucky to attend the University of Louisville where he received a top-rated dental education. Upon completing dental school, he returned to Alaska where he is delighted to be practicing.
