Dr. Yaron Shvets is a highly accomplished dentist who obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Prior to that, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Brooklyn College in New York. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Shvets excelled in the field of Aesthetics and was accepted into the prestigious honors program at New York University.

To further enhance his expertise, Dr. Shvets completed his General Practice Residency at Coney Island Hospital in New York City. He is an esteemed member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, American Academy of Clear Aligners, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, Central Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and the Capital Area Dental Society.

Dr. Shvets is a life-long learner. He is committed to exceptional oral care through continually learning about the latest advancements and best practices in dentistry to deliver the highest quality care to his patients. According to him, the professional learning and growth process never stops. He has dedicated hundreds of hours to enhance his knowledge and skills in dentistry through continuing education coursework enabling him to deliver an exceptional level of care to his patients. He became one of the first from his class to be awarded the prestigious Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), which only 6% of general dentists in the United States attain.

With a comprehensive skill set, Dr. Shvets performs a wide range of dental procedures while prioritizing individualized care for each patient. He strongly believes in the power of patient education and actively engages with his patients to improve their oral health outcomes and empower them to make informed decisions. Born in Central Asia and having lived in Israel and New York City, Dr. Shvets relocated to Austin, drawn to its welcoming atmosphere and pleasant climate. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys exploring Austin with his wife and three children, staying active through running, honing his handyman skills, and engaging in friendly chess matches with his son. Dr. Shvets finds fulfillment in both his professional and personal pursuits, making a positive impact on the lives of his patients and enjoying quality time with his loved ones.

​Originally from Riverside, California, Dr. Gallagher’s upbringing included living in various states and countries due to his father’s service in the U.S. Air Force. As a youth, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and later became a scout leader, obtaining advanced certifications in adult scouting. He pursued his undergraduate degree in biology at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, before earning his DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Following this, he completed anesthesiology residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical School in New York, and fellowship training at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Gallagher attained Diplomate status in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA) in 1979.

His extensive training continued with a three-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He became certified for membership in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) in 1981 and earned Diplomate status in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) in 1984. Throughout his residency, Dr. Gallagher engaged in clinical research, co-authored scientific papers, and contributed to textbooks on facial deformities correction and other topics. He also shared his expertise internationally, serving as a lecturer and surgeon in Australia and New Zealand, and participating in surgical missions in Guatemala City and Honduras.

​After his residency, Dr. Gallagher balanced private practice with teaching roles at Brown University Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. However, he eventually chose to relocate to Austin, Texas, to pursue his passion for practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery in the area.

Outside of work, Dr. Gallagher enjoys spending time with his wife and children. His hobbies include beekeeping, ranching, and gardening.

Dr. Casmedes earned his BBA and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He held many colorful jobs throughout college, from cracking eggs and doing dishes in the dormitory kitchen, to delivering beer for Schlitz Brewery. After completing his MBA, he spent two years in the business world working for Arthur Andersen, and then entered dental school in San Antonio. He then decided to specialize in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, discovering a true passion for facial reconstruction.

After 17 years in private practice, Dr. Casmedes joined Seton Hospital in 2012 to head the Oral Surgery division. His practice focuses on corrective jaw surgery, and on the particular surgical needs of children with disabilities.  Since 2011, Dr. Casmedes has served as a board examiner for the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Casmedes has many hobbies, including home renovation and design, making lamps, and collecting anything hand-made. He has three children, Christine, Paul, and Courtney. His wife Trish is a singer-songwriter who plays in the Austin band Skyrocket. When he’s not working, you’ll find him out enjoying the band, fly-fishing on a river, or surfing the web for collectibles.

While completing several years of research in cell and molecular biology and wound-healing at both UNLV and UCLA, Dr. Cavaretta built the foundation for his passion in complicated hard and soft tissue grafting procedures necessary for oral reconstruction and rehabilitation. He was selected to present his research at the International Association for Dental Research and was published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has lectured on bone grafting, soft tissue esthetic surgery and grafting, and dental implant therapy to dentists, surgeons, and surgical residents. He is well respected by his peers and has been voted a Texas Super Dentist.

Dr. Cavaretta was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada where he graduated with honors from UNLV with a degree in cell and molecular biology and a minor in chemistry. He went on to attend dental school at UCLA where he graduated Magna Cum Laude receiving the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Award from the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as the Oral Pathology Award and the Oral Medicine and Facial Pain Award. He completed his internship at the prestigious Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and went on to complete his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Texas in Houston. After training at one of the largest medical centers in the country, Dr. Cavaretta was afforded exposure to a vast number of challenging cases and pathology. This further advanced his knowledge and surgical skills in facial trauma and reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, implant dentistry, and oral pathology. During these years he also prides himself on completing additional training in hospital-based anesthesia with the Baylor University Department of Anesthesia. He is a proud member of the Austin community where he lives with his wife, Dr. Ashley Gordon, an accomplished plastic surgeon, and their three canine children.

Dr. Krieger earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Whitworth College in 2006. He completed dental school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2011 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Following dental school, Dr. Krieger completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.

While Dr. Krieger has been practicing Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery since 2015, he has been focused exclusively on the “All on 4” implant procedure since 2019. Dr. Krieger found a true passion for this surgery when he witnessed the life changing effect and profound impact the procedure can have on the health and emotional well being of patients. Dr. Krieger looks forward to delivering this exceptional oral surgery and dental implant care to patients in the Austin community.

After completing his residency, he served in the US Army Dental Corps, including being stationed at Fort Hood, TX for 2 years. He then worked as a staff instructor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. After his military service, Dr. Bonasso entered private practice and has been serving Austin since 1998. Outside of work, Dr. Bonasso enjoys time with his family.

Dr. Voorhees earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Baylor College of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1977.

Dr. Voorhees conducted his residency in oral surgery at Baylor Medical Center from 1978-1982 and received his Master of Science in Dentistry in 1982. He joined our Austin Oral Surgery team in July, 1982.

He is certified by The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and his memberships include those in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Capital Area Dental Society, the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Dr. Flint graduated from Austin College in Sherman, TX with honors before attending medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After receiving his medical degree in 2004, Dr. Flint completed his general surgery internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY.

Dr. Flint then practiced medicine in New York while attending dental school at Columbia University where he completed his second doctoral degree, his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery).

After obtaining his dental degree, Dr. Flint completed residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery and anesthesia at the University of California, San Francisco and a fellowship in cosmetic and cleft lip and palate surgery.

Since finishing his training, Dr. Flint has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery in Austin, TX. Dr. Flint takes pride in offering full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with the latest advances in the specialty.
