Dr. John Foley grew up in suburban Chicago, IL and attended Saint Louis University in Missouri for his undergraduate studies. He then enrolled at the University of Illinois – Chicago to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree and finished near the top of his class and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honors dental society. Dr. John was then honored to be selected to study orthodontics at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, completing both his master’s degree (M.S.) in biomedical sciences and his orthodontic certification. His research as a resident focused on the possible genetic link between familial cancer risk and certain types of multiple-tooth agenesis. During his time at Mayo Clinic, he was a member of the hospital’s craniofacial team, working with cleft palate patients, as well as those with complex genetic syndromes.
After residency, Dr. Foley worked as a private practice orthodontist in both Streamwood, IL and then Raleigh, NC. In the Summer of 2020, he purchased a private practice in Cary, NC and relocated his family to the Southwest Wake County area. Dr. Foley’s Cary, NC practice, Foley Orthodontics, has been actively incorporating the latest advancements in orthodontic technology to provide patients with the absolute best in a treatment experience and outcome. It is this dedication to patient care, technological advancement in dentistry and commitment to dental excellence that led Dr. Foley to join Russo Dentistry and their team of comprehensive dental solution specialists as Russo Dentistry’s patient-centered Orthodontic Specialist.
