Dr. Leah Schumerth grew up in Green Bay and attended college at UW–Eau Claire. During college, Dr. Schumerth worked part-time as a dental assistant and learned invaluable lessons while working on the opposite side of the dental chair from where she now sits. Following college, Dr. Schumerth moved to Philadelphia, PA, where she enjoyed four years of dental education and experience at Temple University – Kornberg School of Dentistry. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned various scholarships during dental school for her high grades.
During dental school, Dr. Schumerth married Dr. Hustad, who had a commitment to serve in the US Air Force following dental school. In the near-decade since graduating from dental school, Dr. Schumerth has been blessed with the opportunity to work in various settings as her husband’s job moved them around the country, allowing her skills as a dentist to grow and evolve with continued education and variable patient needs. From private practice to community health care centers, the WA State Department of Corrections to part-time faculty at Creighton University – School of Dentistry, Dr. Schumerth has become proficient as a general dentist.
