Dr. Chou is passionate about scientific research and dental education. She presented her research results at the 2012 and 2015 American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session, the 2012 Symposium in Translational Orthodontic Research, and 2015 IADR/AADR General Session. Her research work has led to several publications and invited lectures.

Dr. Chou has been involved with academic instruction of residents and dental students at both NYU and Harvard. In addition to her passion for orthodontics, science and teaching, Dr. Chou is an accomplished classical pianist and orchestra conductor.
