Dr. Monts is a graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. Upon graduation, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (A.E.G.D.) residency with the United States Navy in San Diego, California. He completed his specialty training in endodontics (root canals and root surgery) at the VCU School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia earning a certificate in endodontics and a Masters of Science in Endodontics.
Dr. Monts’ specialist training focused exclusively on non-surgical root canals, non-surgical retreatments of previous root canals, root surgery (apicos), trauma and management of medically compromised patients as well as teaching undergraduate dental students in clinical endodontics.
In addition, Dr. Monts completed his thesis on the acceleration of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate using a Portland cement accelerator.
Dr. Monts has been selected as a Super Dentist every year since 2006.
Dr. Monts lives in Northwest Austin and enjoys spending time with his daughters, running and building and playing guitars.
